I keep seeing and hearing about the benefits of turmeric. Its great for your body, inside and out! Even our own Wild Rose Beauty Elixir (my current very favorite product) has this in it! This is a new ingredient to me and our family and I am challenging myself to try some turmeric recipes. But first…
What is turmeric?
Turmeric is a plant in the ginger family. It has been used in Asian cooking and medicine for thousands of years.
The benefits of turmeric
The benefits include: it is a natural anti-inflamatory, antibiotic; it improves digestion; tones the skin; aids in fat metabolism; and more! I want to try to add this more into our family diet. I have chosen five recipes to try out over the next few months! Who wants to join in? I will post results here but also join Alicia’s Organic VIPs to follow along.
Here are the turmeric recipes I have chosen to try. I wanted some variety in side dishes, main dishes and drinks.
- Turmeric Coconut Basmati Rice
- Turmeric Tea (Haven’t settled on one yet)
- Five Ingredient Lemon Turmeric Quinoa. Done! I altered this a little, used my Instant Pot and wrote about it here: Instant Pot Coconut Lemon Quinoa. Very rich and creamy and fast!
- Honey Turmeric Chicken
- Turmeric Sweet Potato Hummus
